Haryana: Criminal absconding for 27 years held

The Haryana Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a criminal absconding for the past 27 years after murdering a police constable.

A reward of Rs 10,000 had also been declared on his arrest, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said. He said the arrested accused has been identified as Rajendra Singh, a resident of village Shahjajipur, district Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh. The team of STF Palwal unit has arrested the accused.

“In 1996, the accused along with other members of his family, brutally murdered a Haryana Police constable and buried the body in a deep pit with the intention of dismembering it, which was pulled out after about a month.

Police said the accused was absconding for the last 27 years in this case and was hiding at different places to avoid arrest. A case was registered in this regard in City Police Station, Dabwali, district Sirsa.

The accused will be handed over to the Dabwali City Police Station for further action, the spokesperson said.
