Gujarat will go to polls on Saturday in the first phase of the Assembly elections, as political parties seek a mandate on 89 of the total 182 seats in this round.
Prime Minister Modi chose to address four rallies in Bhabhar of Banaskantha district, followed by a rally in Kalol of Gandhinagar district and then a rally each in Himmatnagar – Sabarkantha and Vatva in Ahmedabad district.
In Bhabhar – Banaskantha, the PM Modi targeted the Congress for not being around its people and deserting them in the time of need, as the region was devastated by the floods this year. In his speech, the PM said, “When Patan and Banaskantha were facing floods, the MLAs of the Congress Party were nowhere to be seen as they were relaxing in resorts in Bangaluru. It was the BJP workers and leaders who were with the people, helping them cope with the difficulties.”
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP state government, PM Modi said that our government worked tirelessly to bring Narmada water to the region, whereas earlier people had to travel long distances to pray the holy Maa Narmada.
Addressing his second rally in Kalol – Gandhinagar district, Narendra Modi touched upon the Dalit and OBC cord and talked about BJP government’s efforts to bring equality for all without discriminating between people. He said the effort is driven by the ideology of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
PM Modi further mentioned the success of BJP government’s insurance schemes for the economically weaker sections and said the government is committed to strengthening social democracy and our insurance initiatives of Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana has brought in 18 crore poor people under the ambit of insurance and the government has already disbursed Rs.1,800 crore under the schemes.
Meanwhile, the BJP President Amit Shah on Friday addressed rallies in Deesa – Banaskantha, Kalol – Panchmahal, Mahudha – Kheda, and Dholka – Ahmedabad.
The two main campaigners for the BJP are not leaving any stone un-turned to ensure a successful election outcome for their party.
