Governor Anandiben Patel hoists tri-colour to herald R-Day celebrations in UP


Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel unfurled the national flag at the Vidhan Bhavan on Friday on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, the governor and the chief minister released tri-colour balloons in the air.

The Indian Army and other security forces took part in the Republic-Day parade and gave a salute to the governor. During the parade, the security forces displayed their acumen in ensuring security with advanced weapons and other paraphernalia moving alongside their distinctive bands.

Children from various schools of the state capital Lucknow presented colorful cultural programmes and danced to the tunes of patriotic songs like ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara…’ and ‘Hey Punyabhoomi Uttar Pradesh…’

Additionally, a motorcycle squad of Women Home Guards showcased a daring performance. A contingent of cavalry and dog squad of the UP Police also took part in the parade. The Fire Brigade and Dial 112 also showcased their capabilities during the parade.

Moreover, various departments and social organisations showcased thematic tableaux on the occasion. The particularly captivating tableau was that of the recently-inaugurated Ram Temple presented by the Information and Public Relations Department. Seeing this tableau dedicated to Lord Shri Ram, the parade venue echoed with thunderous applause.

Simultaneously, the Election Commission of India showcased a tableau depicting the New Parliament House and an ideal polling place. Additionally, a tableau dedicated to the UP Sindhi community was taken out by the Language Department. Similarly, a tableau, ‘Udyan bana Udyog Ka Aadhar’, was brought out by the Horticulture and Food Processing Department.

Other notable tableaus were from the Lucknow Development Authority, Raj Bhavan, the Agriculture Department, Kashi Tamil Sangamam, the Forest and Wildlife Department, the UP Sanskrit Sansthan, the UP Punjabi Academy, the Bharat Scouts Guide, the Health and Family Welfare Department, the State Clean Ganga Mission, the Urban Development Department, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, CMS School, and the Jal Jeevan Mission, all of which captivated the audience.
