Winter Session: Government likely to convene all-party meet on December 10

The BJP-led central government is likely to convene an all-party meeting on December 10 to discuss the agenda for the winter session of Parliament beginning December 11, sources said on Wednesday.

According to the reports, the government is expected to push its legislative agenda which includes replacement of three ordinances with bills at the meeting to be called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

The three ordinances are the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, Companies (Amendment) Ordinance and the Ordinance banning and punishing triple talaq.

Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan is also expected to convene a meeting on December 11 to seek cooperation of all political parties in smooth running of the House.
