G20 Summit Updates: Millet dominates menu of President’s dinner for world leaders


G20 Summit 2023 India Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the G20 Summit being held under India’s presidency at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. The two-day Group of 20 annual Summit is ben held on the theme of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbhkam: One Earth, One Family and One Future”. The G20 India Summit is attended by world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, Australia PM Anthony Albanese and UN General Antonio Guterres among others. During the two-day G20 Summit, world leaders will sit together and address major global challenges and resolve to find their solutions. In his opening remarks, PM Modi called upon world leaders to come together and find solutions to the problems the world is facing.

8:00 PM: Dinner menu: Mumbai Vada Pao, Millet crisp, Kerala red rice and more delicious Indian cuisines will be served to the G20 leaders. G20 leaders have arrived at Bharat Mandapam for the President’s dinner.

3:30 PM: PM Modi says consensus built on draft leader’s declaration: “I have received good news. Due to the hard work of our team, consensus has been built on New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration. My proposal is to adopt this leadership declaration. I announce to adopt this declaration. On this occasion, I congratulate my Sherpa, ministers, who worked hard for it and made it possible…”

2:30 PM: Handshake by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, President of Brazil Luiz Inacio, President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa and World Bank President Ajay Banga at Bharat Mandapam, the venue for G-20 Summit in Delhi.

2:30 PM: PM Modi, Rishi Sunak bilateral: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK PM Rishi Sunak hold bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. Both leaders discussed the UK-India free trade agreement and other issues of mutual interests.

2:05 PM: BREAKING NEWS: According to reports, India has proposed new text to refer to Ukraine crisis in a bid to break the impasse over draft leader’s declaration.

1:50 PM: P Chidambaram on Congress chief Kharge not being invited for G20 dinner: I cannot imagine any other democratic country’s government not inviting the recognised Leader of the Opposition to a state dinner for world leaders This can happen only in countries where there is no Democracy or no Opposition I hope India, that is Bharat, has not reached a stage where Democracy and the Opposition will cease to exist.
