In an initiative to support Afghan refugees settled in the national capital, the Centre for Dental Education and Research (CDER) of the AIIMS in New Delhi and the CD Foundation are organising a free dental camp on Saturday for the children of Afghan community.
The camp to be held under the aegis of the Government of India has been specifically designed for Afghan refugee children, who are under the age of 14 years, and will be held at the AIIMS, New Delhi.
The aim is to provide them with essential dental care and promote oral health awareness.
As per the CD Foundation, the camp will benefit the Afghan refugee community who are residing in New Delhi.
The CDER, AIIMS has been nominated as the National Centre of Excellence to assist the National Oral Health Cell.
For several years, CD Foundation has been supporting causes related to Afghanistan, that include offering free medical camps, skill training, and employment opportunities.
Activities such as meet and greet events, Afghan food fests, and fashion shows have also been organised to promote the community.
All these projects have been carried out on a pro bono basis, the CD Foundation informed.
