Four workers still missing in Baddi perfume factory fire

In the aftermath of the fire tragedy that struck NR Aroma at Barotiwala (Baddi), the Himachal Pradesh Police on Sunday said that four factory workers are still missing.

The four missing workers have been identified as Champo from Chamba, Kajal from Budaun (UP), Kajal Bharti from Kushinagar (UP) and Kalpana Ahirwar from Chatarpur (Madhya Pradesh).

A total of 85 workers were in the factory when the devastating fire broke out on Friday. Five workers lost their lives in the incident. One of the deceased remains unidentified. The victims include Pinki (32) from Panchkula, Rakhi (23) from Sambhal (UP), Shashi (19) from Budaun (UP), and Rehnuma (23) from Bareilly (UP).

Twenty-nine workers suffered injuries in the incident. They are being treated at various health facilities. While 20 workers are undergoing treatment at the Community Health Centre, Nalagarh, seven workers have been admitted to the ESI Hospital, Katha, Baddi. Two workers are receiving treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

The police, in association with the HP State Disaster Response Force, the National Disaster Response Force, and the HP Fire, responded promptly to the crisis. Their coordinated efforts played a crucial role in containing the fire and implementing comprehensive measures to rescue and provide immediate aid to the victims.

“An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the fire and to evaluate all aspects of safety norms and regulations at the NR Aroma facility,” the HP Police said in a press statement.

The police have appealed to the public, urging anyone with information about the missing persons to come forward. They have requested people to share any clues or information in this regard with Baddi ASP Ashok Kumar.
