Four suspected cattle thieves brutally assaulted in Assam’s Nalbari

Four suspected cattle thieves were brutally attacked in Assam’s Nalbari on early Tuesday morning. The condition of the four is stated to be critical.

Infuriated by several reported incidents of cattle theft in the region, the mob attacked the four individuals and also set fire to a Maruti Swift Dzire, allegedly belonging to them.

The incident unfolded in Dokoha village in the Barbhag subdivision of the Nalbari district.

Later, the local police intervened and rushed the severely injured victims to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati for medical treatment.

Among the victims, one hailed from Katpuha village in Barbhag while the remaining three were said to be residents of Raimadha village in the same subdivision. The authorities are investigating the incident and the circumstances that led to the violence.
