Foundation stone laid for 100 bed district hospital in Dehradun

As a New Year gift to Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat laid the foundation stone of the 100-bed Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Government Coronation Hospital in Dehradun on Tuesday. The hospital is expected to start operations from 2020.

The Chief Minister instructed that hospital construction work should be done with quality control- with the latest technology and facilities. Its construction work will be carried out on a twenty-four-hour basis.

Chief Minister Rawat said, “With this, the long pending demand of local people of not having their district hospital got fulfilled.”

He said that it is a matter of great happiness for the state that the doctors in the state who were drawing hefty salaries have left their jobs at big private hospitals and are now providing services at one-fourth salary at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital. The CM made especially mentioned Neurosurgeon Dr Rahul Awasthi.

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Government Coronation Hospital will be constructed in an area of 8,141 square metres. With a total of 136-bed capacity, the hospital will have 76-bed General Ward, 24-bed Burn Ward, 11 ICU Beds, Recovery Ward of 9 beds, 16 emergency beds, and a 4-bed Operation Theater.

Sophisticated and fully computerized, the hospital will have all the facilities for the diagnosis with MRI, CT scan, X-ray, blood bank, blood sample, blood donation etc.
