Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in BJP’s 3rd list

Former Telangana Governor and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai figure in the third list of nine candidates announced by the BJP on Thursday evening for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

The saffron party has fielded Soundararajan from Chennai South Lok Sabha seat while Annamalai has been fielded from Coimbatore.

Union Minister of State for Fisheries L Murugan will contest from Nilgiris (SC) Lok Sabha seat, and former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan will contest from Kanyakumari.

The other candidates announced by the BJP in its third list are T Paarivendhar (Perambalur), BJP legislature party leader Nainar Nagendran (Thoothukudi), Vinoj P Selvam (Chennai Central), Dr AC Shanmugham (Vellore), and Dr C Naraaimham (Krishnagiri).

A former President of the BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit and daughter of Congress’ former state chief Kumari Anandan, Soundararajan resigned as Telangana Governor and Puducherry Lt Governor earlier this week and rejoined the party.

There are 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu where the voting is on April 19 in a single phase for the Lok Sabha polls.

With the announcement of nine more candidates in its third list, the BJP has so far announced a total of 276 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
