In a shocking display of power and hooliganism, a man was seen brandishing a gun while arguing with a couple outside a 5-star hotel in Delhi on Sunday.

The police have identified the man as Ashish Pandey, son of former Bahujan Samaj Party MP Rakesh Pandey. He was seen waving a gun while arguing with a woman and threatening her right outside the Hyatt Regency Delhi. He was also seen hurling abuses and threats at the woman and her partner.

A few people were seen intervening in the matter trying to calm Ashish down.

The incident which reportedly occurred on October 14 was shot on a mobile camera.

On the basis of the video, a case has been registered against Ashish Pandey under the Arms Act and the Indian Penal Code, the police said. A police team has left for Lucknow to arrest him.

A Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued by Delhi Police against Ashish.

Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju said strong and appropriate action will be taken against the accused.

The Hyatt Regency has put out a statement assuring that safety and security of guests was their primary concern. It said it has taken the incident seriously and is working with the local police authorities on the matter.
