Five civilians were injured while they were protesting on Wednesday in a security forces firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

People in Wullerhama village were chasing an alleged braid chopper from trying to flee “in an army vehicle,” an eyewitness said.

“The protesters resorted to heavy stone pelting at the army vehicle. Soldiers on board then fired at the crowd injuring five civilians,” a police officer said.

The injured have been shifted to a hospital.
