The CBI custody of Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Yasin Mansoor Mohamed Farooq alias Farooq Takla was extended till 28 March by a special TADA court on Monday.
Takla was arrested at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on 8 March and was remanded to CBI custody till today.
Claiming that Takla was not cooperating with the investigation, the CBI requested for his custody to be extended to verify the statements he made during the interrogation.
The probe agency also claimed that Takla was not cooperating in the probe.

An accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, which killed 257 people and left 713 people injured, Takla faces charges ranging from criminal conspiracy, murder, attempt to murder and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
He had fled the country following the blasts.
Reports say that central intelligence agencies were working in securing arrests or deportations of close aides of Dawood, who has been designated by the US authorities as a global terrorist and faces sanctions in the United Nations.
Last year, six men were convicted by a special court in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The accused included Mustafa Dossa, Abu Salem, Taher Merchant, Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan, Karimullah Khan and Riyaz Siddiqui.
On 12 March 1993, between 1.30 pm and 3.40 pm, 12 successive bomb explosions took place at 12 different places in Mumbai (then known as Bombay). The first bomb went off at the Bombay Stock Exchange. The other spots include Katha Bazaar, Lucky petrol pump near Sena Bhavan in Dadar, opposite the passport office near Century Bazaar in Worli, Fishermen’s colony in Mahim, the basement of Air India building in Nariman Point, Zaveri Bazaar, Hotel Sea Rock, Plaza theatre, Centaur hotel in Juhu, Sahar airport and Centaur Hotel at the airport.
