DU releases 2nd cut-off list for UG courses

The Delhi University (DU) announced its second cut-off list for merit-based admission to various undergraduate (UG) courses in its colleges on Wednesday evening, which was understood to reflect a drop of about 0.5-2 per cent as compared to the varsity’s first cut-off list.

Kirori Mal College, SRCC, Hansraj College, Gargi College, Deshbandhu College and Vivekananda College were among the colleges which released their second cut-off list for admission to different UG courses.

This year 2, 58, 388 candidates got registered on the varsity’s portal, seeking admission to 63, 000 seats in 64 colleges affiliated to the DU.

The DU had released the first cut-off list for admission on 28 June. About 24, 000 students were enrolled in various colleges after the first cut-off list was announced. With courses like Political Science and English Honours in high demand, many of the colleges have closed admissions for some categories of students for these and other courses.

Kirori Mal College on Wednesday released its second cut-off list with 98 per cent cut-off for BA Economics (Honours). At the same time, it closed its admission for BA Political Science (Hons) for all the categories. For BA History (Hons) it closed admission for the Scheduled Caste and General categories. It also closed admission for BA Geography (Hons) for the General category students.

Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) has pegged 98 per cent as the highest cut-off for its B. Com (Hons) course and has closed admission for BA Economics (Hons) for various categories.

Hansraj College released its second cut-off with the highest being in B. Com (Hons) with 97.5 per cent marks. It has closed admission for B Sc Physical Science for various categories. The admission to BA English (Hons) has also been closed for SC/ST categories.

Gargi College released the second cut-off with 96.5 per cent for BA (Hons) Economics, which has been closed for the EWS category. BA (Hons) Political Science has also been closed for various categories.

Deshbandhu College released its second cut-off with 94.5 per cent as the highest for BA Economics (Hons) course. The college has closed admission for various combinations of BA Programme course for certain categories.

Vivekanand College closed admission for the General category for BA Political Science (Hons) and History. It also released its second cut-off with maximum 94 per cent set for B Com (Hons).

The DU is expected to announce the third cut-off list on 9 July, the fourth list on 15 July and the fifth cut-off list on 20 July.
