Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday for not taking any step for the safety of women.

Taking it to Twitter, Priyanka said that despite hundreds of horrible incidents, the government is still not active in taking steps for the protection of the women.

“The Chief Minister and ministers of Uttar Pradesh should be ashamed as there is no action from them on the women safety,” said Priyanka.

She also accused the UP government of not being able to assure the women citizens of justice in the state.

Priyanka’s remarks came on the news about a minor rape victim and her parents consumed outside the office of Senior Superintendent of Police in Varanasi district.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi along with Rahul Gandhi on her way to Meerut to meet the victims of the CAA protests were stopped by the police, leading them to head back to Delhi.

Meerut witnessed some of the worst incidents of violence during protests against the amended citizenship law and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Around six people were killed in protests.
