A delegation of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), headed by DPCC president Chaudhary Anil Kumar, on Tuesday, met the Commissioner, State Election Commission, Delhi and complained against the inflammatory speech made by Ishank, president of Sadar Bazar Mandal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, in which he exhorted the Yuva Morcha activists to use money, muscle and gun power to help BJP win the MCD election.
Chaudhary Anil Kumar also handed over a pen drive of the video containing the inflammatory speech to the election Commissioner. The delegation consisted of former Delhi Minister Haroon Yusuf, former Parliamentary secretary to the Chief Minister and chairman of the DPCC Communications Department Anil Bhardwaj among others.
Chaudhary said that it was very unfortunate that Mandal Adkhyaksh (President) of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has been assuring the BJP candidates that they would not hesitate to use guns to win the MCD election.
“It is an alarming state of affairs that BJP and its outfits have started poisoning the peaceful environment of Delhi during the MCD Elections. People of Delhi, have not forgotten the grim memories of riots during the year 2020, though people of different religions have been living together peacefully”, DPCC president noted.
He pointed out that during the assembly elections in UP last year, and during the elections in Gujarat, many anti-social elements were detained who could create trouble during the elections.
He said that the Commissioner assured the Congress delegation of looking into the matter and taking appropriate action against Ishank, and BJP candidate Pinki of Sadar Bazar Ward.
