Curfew continued to be clamped for the fifth day on Monday in the Bhaderwah town of the Jammu division following communal incidents.

Reports said that the situation continues to be tense in the sub-division town although some arrests have been made.

Restrictions that were imposed on Thursday last week were lifted today from the whole of the Doda district except Bhaderwah town.

Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma along with Abdul Qayoom, SSP Doda reviewed the law and order situation across the district and also conducted a round of Doda town.

SDM Thatri and SDM Gandoh along with police officers also conducted various meetings with different sections of society within their respective jurisdictions.

The DC urged the locals to maintain communal harmony, tranquility, and peace, besides asking them not to indulge in any activity having the potential of breaching the law and order situation.

Markets were opened in Doda, Thatri, and Gandoh, and people across all sections of society expressed satisfaction over the removal of restrictions. They appealed to all to maintain communal harmony and belief.

The situation in Bhaderwah is also normal and is continuously being assessed, an official spokesman said.
