CRPF organises bike ‘Tiranga Rally” in Srinagar

Celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Nalin Prabhat, ADG, J&K Zone CRPF, flagged off a huge bike Tiranga Rally from the iconic Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday.
Among those present were Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, Srinagar Sector CRPF and senior officers of the Force.
Organized under the aegis of CRPF’s Srinagar Sector and under the guidance of Mathew A John, DIG, Range Srinagar South, the rally witnessed massive participation of enthusiastic bike riders waving the Tricolour in the serene valley as they rode towards its culmination point-Nishat Garden overlooking the tranquil Dal Lake.
Nalin Prabhat, ADG and Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, spearheaded the rally leading to Nishat Garden where it was flagged in with a warm and jubilant welcome from 54 Battalion CRPF.
Commemorating 75 years of Independence, 75 bikers with their pillions who waved the National Flag rode through the valley, garnered attention, evoked patriotism, and reverberated the message of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ as onlookers gathered to participate and cheer the rally by singing patriotic songs and chanting the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Matram’.
Enroute, the Rally presented the National Flag to the citizens and encouraged their participation in the Nationwide movement. While all the Srinagar based CRPF units participated in the mega event, 132 Bn under command of RK Baruah, Commandant, was entrusted with the arrangements pertaining to the flag-off ceremony and 54 Bn led by Prabhat Kumar Sandwar, Commandant, conducted a smooth and hassle free flag-in ceremony.
The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign which was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, has only gathered more steam as he urged the Nation to take part in the movement this year between 13th to 15th August. Drawing inspiration, the Srinagar Sector of CRPF has conducted several rallies and programs across the city.
Appreciating the CRPF Tiranga Bike Rally, Nalin Prabhat, ADG, lauded the zeal of CRPF personnel in reaching out to the residents of the valley in addition to their  steadfast commitment in securing peace and law and order in the valley through continuous operations and relentless vigil.
Chief Guest, Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, also expressed his gratitude to the residents of Srinagar for their encouragement and participation.
Stressing that the Rally is yet another event conducted to reach out to the citizens, Yadav underlined that it was owing to the complete makeover and historic significance that Lal chowk was chosen as the starting point of the Rally.
He attributed the selection of routes to the embellishments which have further augmented the beauty and vividness of the ambient Srinagar, thereby transforming the city.
