The CPI-M state secretariat, scheduled to be held on Friday, will take up for discussion the financial irregularity charges levelled against LDF convenor EP Jayarajan by P Jayarajan.

The state secretariat meet is likely to take a decision on conducting a party probe by constituting a commission to bring out the truth behind the alleged amassing of wealth by party central committee member E P Jayarajan.

CPI-M state committee member P Jayarajan accused that party’s Central committee member and Kerala  LDF convener EP Jayarajan illegally acquired property in the name of Ayurvedic resort in Kannur.

P Jayarajan has accused Jayarajan of illegally acquiring property in the name of Kannur Ayurveda Medical Care Limited. He alleged that there has been massive financial irregularities involving the resort and Ayurvedic village which was built by illegally acquiring property worth Rs 30 crore.

There is a strong feeling among leaders in the party in the state that an internal probe is necessary in the issue, since the controversy has been widely discussed in the media, creating confusion among the cadres and party supporters on the issue.

Meanwhile, E P Jayarajan informed that he may attend the secretariat meeting to be held on Friday. If the allegations are being taken up for discussion, EP Jayarajan is expected to explain his side of the controversy  in the secretariat meeting.

P Jayarajan has raised the issue of financial irregularity against EP Jayarajan when the state committee took up the ‘rectification document’ for discussion in the state committee. The Kerala CPI-M has initiated a massive rectification campaign to weed out growing bourgeoisie tendencies in the party.
