A day before the closing of the filing of nomination papers, the Congress party on Wednesday fielded late Bhanwarlal Sharma’s son Anil Sharma in Sardarpura assembly bypoll slated for December 5.
Sardarshahar constituency of the Churu district in Rajasthan fell vacant after the death of Bhanwar Lal Sharma, 77-year-old veteran Congress leader, on October 9, 2022.
Late sharma represented this constituency seven times.
Bhartiya Janta Party has again fielded Ashok Kumar Pincha, who was defeated by the Congress candidate late Bhanwarlal Sharma in 2018- assembly polls, in Sardarshahr assembly bypoll.

Later in the afternoon, BJP candidate Pincha filed his papers after he held a roadshow on the street accompanied by senior party leaders including Leader of Opposition GC Kataria, Deputy Leader R S Rathore, and BJP State President Satish Poonia.
