Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday greeted the nation on the occasion of Diwali.
According to an official statement, Sonia Gandhi said, “The Diwali festival represents the journey from darkness to light and I wish that the light of this festival brings happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s lives.”
She also hoped that the festival will fill everyone’s lives with love, brotherhood and harmony, added the statement.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday shared a message on social media and said , “Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali. May this festival bring happiness to all,”

The festival of Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, goodness over evil and justice over injustice. Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a major Hindu festival celebrated with much pomp across the country.
Diwali, the festival of lights is one of the most popular Hindu festivals in India. According to the Hindu holy books, the festival marks the return of Lord Ram from Sri Lanka to Ayodhya after defeating Raavan.
