The spacecraft will be the first Indian expedition to attempt a soft landing on the lunar surface. This mission will make India the fourth country after the US, Russia, and China to carry out a soft landing on the moon.
Earlier in the month, ISRO had released the first set of pictures of Earth that was sent by Chandrayaan-2.
Chandrayaan-2 on Wednesday successfully entered the Lunar Transfer Trajectory (LTT) after its orbit was raised further.
India’s second moon spacecraft Chandrayaan-2 put into earth orbit on July 22.
The mission comes 11 years after Isro successfully launched Chandrayaan-1 in, October 2008.
