The CBSE Class 10 results are out, and Vatsal Varshney of Dewan Public School in Meerut with a score of 499 marks out of 500 is among the all-India toppers. Shubh Agarwal of the same school scored 497 marks, finishing at the 3rd rank in the exams along with Dipanshu Bisaria of KL International School of the city.
The result of the CBSE class 10th board exam was announced on Monday evening, and like the class 12th result, students of Meerut have again performed outstandingly at the National level. Vatsal Varshney of Dewan Public School is amongst the 13 All India toppers of class 10th with 499/500 marks, while Shubh Aggarwal and Dipanshu Bisaria are ranked at the 3rd position along with 25 toppers who scored 497/500.
Expressing happiness over the success of two students of his school, the principal HM Raut said that both the students have worked hard to achieve the success and he wished them a very bright future ahead.
Vatsal too is elated after this success and plans to opt for Science with Maths as he wants to become an engineer, though both of his parents are doctors.
“I have a great passion for maths though this is the subject in which my one mark has been deducted,” he said, adding that this is why he wants to pursue a career in engineering.
Vatsal’s parents, Dr Anupam Varshney (pathologist) and mother Dr Tarang Goel (dermatologist) are overwhelmed with this success of their elder son. “Since childhood, machines and computers attracted Vatsal,” said Anupam, adding that now he wants to become an engineer in spite of the fact that ours is a family of doctors and we are happy about it.
“We have never pressurized Vatsal for studies and have allowed him to take his own decisions,” said Tarang, adding that he had really worked hard throughout the year.
Sharing his success mantra, Vatsal said that he used to study regularly and used the internet to solve his problems and kept away from social media. However, as a stress buster, he either used to play badminton or go for walks with his father and younger brother Vasu.
Shubh Agarwal, also from the same school as Vatsal, scored only 2 marks less than him. Shubh, however, has a different plan as he aspires to become a technocrat. “I want to go to IIM after graduating,” he said, attributing his success to his parents and teachers.
Shubh used to study regularly for 6-7 hours, told his proud mother Nidhi Agarwal, adding that he always took small breaks while studying and preferred listening to music to relax.
