CBSE 12th Results 2018: Girls outperform boys by 10 per cent | Meghna Srivastava topper with 99.8%

The Class 12th results of the Central Board of Secondary Education 2018, or CBSE 12th results 2018, were announced on Saturday at 12.30 pm.

Education Secretary Anil Swarup had confirmed on Friday that the CBSE Class 12th results 2018 will be announced today.

As expected, girls outshone boys in the examinations conducted across the country by the Board.

While the pass percentage of girls was 88.31 per cent, that of the boys was way below at 78.99 per cent. There was a huge gap of almost 10 per cent between the two.

The overall pass percentage was 83.01.

The topper of the CBSE Class 12th results 2018 is Meghna Srivastava from Ghaziabad who scored 99.8 per cent. A student of Humanities, she secured 499 out of 500 in the examination. The only subject she didn’t score a 100 out of 100 marks is English.

As per the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), a total of 16,38,428 and 11,86,306 students had registered for examination this year for Class 10 and Class 12, respectively. The exams were held at 4,138 centres across India and 71 centres outside the country.

The CBSE had held re-examination for Class 12 economics paper throughout the country on 25 April.

Students can use the following step to check the results:

Step 1: Visit the board’s official website: cbse.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE Class 12th Result 2018’ option in the ‘Recent Announcements’ section.

Step 3: Enter details such as roll number and press ‘submit’ to access results.

Step 4: Check results, download and take a print out.
