Cabinet ministers, top officials discuss bill on data protection

The top brass of the Central government from the Ministry of Finance, the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and senior officers of financial institutions on Wednesday shared their ideas, practices and concerns on cyber security and readiness for future cyber threats.

The occasion was a symposium on cyber security titled Financial Services Cyber Security (FINSCY) organised by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance. It was inauguraed by Dr Vivek Joshi, Secretary, DFS.

Senior executives and CISOs of Banks, Insurance Companies joined in the meet which shared perspectives on the revised draft Digital Personal Data Protection Bill also.

Officials from Government agencies viz., CERT-In, NCIIPC, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre; regulators in the financial services sector viz., RBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA; Public Sector Banks and Insurers, leading Private Sector Banks and Insurers, and major financial institutions such as NABARD, SIDBI, EXIM Bank and National Housing Bank also attended.
