BSF celebrates 54th Raising Day, exchanges sweets with Pakistan Rangers

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers on Saturday exchanged sweets on the occasion of BSF’s 54th Raising Day.

A BSF officer said that sweets were exchanged at five points on the International Border between the border guarding forces of the two countries.

Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers exchanged sweets and greeted each other in Samba, Hiranagar, Ramgarh, RS Pura, and Pargwal sectors in the Jammu region and committed to each other to maintain peaceful a atmosphere and harmonious relation between two border guarding forces.

BSF, one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India, was raised in the wake of the 1965 War on December 1, 1965, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Rajni Kant Mishra, a 1984-batch IPS officer, is the BSF’s current and 24th Director General.
