BJP trying to derail Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Cong after banners vandalised in Assam

The Congress has accused the BJP of trying to derail Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ after some miscreants vandalised the posters and banners of the yatra in Assam’s North Lakhimpur.

Sharing a purported video of the incident, the Congress party’s state unit said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s regime is restless as Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra is drawing huge crowd.

“RahulGandhi ji’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra drawing thousands of cheering people in Assam has made the Himanta Biswa Sarma regime restless. While CM is trying to detail the yatra by even threatening of arrests, his followers are tearing off posters & banners of the yatra..,” the Assam Congress said.

This comes after the Assam CM threatened to arrest “two bad elements” if they Yatra passed through Guwahati city without permission.

The Assam CM said that the Yatra will not be allowed to pass through Guwahati and permission can be given for another route if they seek the same.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack against the Assam CM and termed him the “most corrupt” chief minister, who can give corruption lessons to other BJP leaders.

Sarma shot back at Rahul’s charge and said that no one can be more corrupt then the Gandhi family.

“Anything abusive , that comes from the so called Gandhi family, I consider it as a blessing. Because this gives me the energy to fight against a family which considers itself to be the most powerful.

“But I want to ask only one thing , can any one be more corrupt then the Gandhi’s? – Bofors Scam, National Herald Scam, Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the escape of Anderson, 2G scam, Coal Scam, etc (the list is huge and it goes on & on),” the Assam CM added.
