BJP MP thanks PM for increasing rail budget for UP by 16 times

BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on behalf of the people of the state for the approval of historical infrastructure and smooth traffic related development work in Uttar Pradesh by the Ministry of Railways.

Dr. Aggarwal, in a statement here on Saturday,  said between 2009 and 2014, the previous Congress government had allocated only Rs 1,109 crore to Uttar Pradesh, while this government has allocated 16 times more of Rs 17,507 crore to the state.

He said on date 83 schemes of 7,143 km worth Rs 93,697 crore were underway in the state, for which funds will continue to be allocated as per the requirement.

Dr. Aggarwal has also thanked the prime minister for giving approval to make 149 railway stations of UP as world-class stations. He said work has already started in Ayodhya, Gomtinagar, Charbagh, Kashi, Prayagraj, Ghaziabad and Kanpur.

Besides, a techno-economic feasibility study report is being prepared for Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Veerangana Laxmibai, Agra Cantt, Agra Fort, Moradabad, Saharanpur and other stations. He has also thanked the railways for the construction and acceptance of 1,136 flyovers and overbridges since 2014 in UP.
