Assam attracted investment of Rs 13, 364 crore in last one year: CM


 Assam has seen a substantial influx of investment, amounting to Rs 13,364 crore which resulted in sizeable job creation in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. These investments, primarily focused on the industrial sector, have resulted in the generation of over 17,000 employment opportunities within the state.

Under the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019, the government has received 21 proposals across various sectors.  Sarma highlighted the state’s commitment to attracting investments exceeding Rs 100 crore, a goal set forth in 2023.

Moreover, he emphasized the state’s ongoing efforts to tailor incentives for external investors, a measure initiated in January 2023.

 Notably, an additional seven companies have committed to generating 6,500 jobs through a combined investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

Sarma  said that  by affirming Assam’s success in securing significant investments and facilitating job creation, totaling Rs 13,364 crore and 17,700 job opportunities, respectively, over the past 14 months.
