Delhi’s Patiala House court on Friday granted bail to former BSP MP’s son Ashish Pandey, who was arrested for brandishing a gun outside Hyatt Regency in New Delhi.

Metropolitan Magistrate Dharmender Singh granted relief to Pandey on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of the like amount.

The Delhi Police on Thursday filed a charge sheet which mentioned that Pandey has been accused of intimidating a man and his female friend with a pistol in his hand.

Earlier on 19 October, the Delhi Court had dismissed Ashish’s bail plea.

Son of former BSP MP Rakesh Pandey, Ashish was seen waving a gun while arguing with a woman and threatening her outside the Hyatt Regency at Delhi on 14 October. He was also seen hurling abuses and threats at the woman and her partner.

Before surrendering to the court, Pandey released a video message saying that he only took the gun for his safety. In the message, he said that CCTV footage of the hotel can prove that there was someone in the ladies washroom that night.

Pandey claims that the man allegedly present in the women’s washroom threatened him after which he brought his gun.
