The ashes of former Union Minister Ananth Kumar were immersed at Har-ki-Pauri in Haridwar on Tuesday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat attended the ritual and paid homage to the late Ananth Kumar.

Fondly remembering the leader, the CM said, “Ananth Ji was a true well-wisher of Uttarakhand. He wanted to do a lot for Uttarakhand. Ananth Ji had said that he would be extremely happy in giving approval to the proposals sent to his Ministry by the Uttarakhand government.”

Rawat said CIPET was inaugurated by Ananth Kumar in Doiwala in July. Giving 833 acres IDPL land free of cost to Uttarakhand, a plastic recycling unit in Doiwala, approval of Plastic Medical Devices Park in Sitarganj and approval of 100 additional centres for generic medicines in Uttarakhand reflected his special attachment with Uttarakhand, he said, adding late Ananth Kumar would always remain in the hearts and memories of the people of Uttarakhand.
