Kejriwal to expose the truth about so-called Delhi liquor scam: Sunita

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Wednesday said her jailed husband would “expose” the alleged liquor policy scam in court.

In a video message posted on the AAP’s Twitter handle, she said Kejriwal will present details of the alleged scam with evidence in front of the honourable court on Thursday. She also reiterated that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) failed to recover a single penny during its extensive raids on AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Stayendar Jain, in the case.

She said the ED found mere Rs 73,000 worth cash at the chief minister’s residence.

Referring to her meeting with her husband on Tuesday, Sunita said, “Arvind ji told me that in the investigation of this so-called liquor scam, ED has conducted more than 250 raids in the last two years. They (ED) are searching for the money of this so-called liquor scam. Till now, they have not got a single penny in any of the raids.”

She further said only Kejriwal’s physical body is in the lock-up, but his soul is with the people of the national capital. She added that her husband is not in good shape, but he is keeping up with the fight for the people.

“He has diabetes and his sugar levels are not good. But his determination is strong. Arvind ji is a true patriotic, and a fearless and courageous person. Pray for his long life, health, and success,” Sunita said in the video address.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor was arrested by the federal probe agency on March 21 in the liquor policy-linked money laundering case, and was sent to the agency’s custody till March 28. Former deputy chief minister Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were arrested last year in connection with the case.
