A red alert was sounded on Friday evening in the Kashmir valley after an Army soldier was abducted by terrorists in Budgam district of central Kashmir. Reports said armed terrorists kidnapped the soldier of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI), Mohammad Yaseen, from his home in the Qazipura village in the Chadoora block of Budgam.
Even as an official confirmation of the kidnapping is awaited from the Army authorities, police sources said a massive search for the soldier had been launched by teams of Army, CRPF and the J&K Police.
The area Budgam is located near the Pulwama district of South Kashmir.

In another incident, suspected terrorists snatched the service rifle of a policeman in Kishtwar district, officials said. Daleep Kumar, the policeman, was posted as a personnel security officer (PSO) of Angrez Singh Rana, district development commissioner, Kishtwar.
According to Kumar, some masked gunmen barged into his home in Shaheedi Mazar area late night and left with his AK-47 rifle and mobile phone after threatening him and his family, the officials said.
The area has been cordoned off and a massive hunt launched to nab the gunmen and recover the weapon.
The PSO is being questioned, it is learnt.
