Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari, on Wednesday, said that the divisive politics of traditional political parties has been a curse for the people of J&K for over the past 75 years.
Bukhari was speaking at the party’s rally in north Kashmir’s Tangmarg.
He said that the Apni Party wants to ensure peace, prosperity and development in J&K and also political and economic empowerment to its people.
“People have been suffering here for the past several decades due to the turmoil and bloodshed. Apni Party wants to get people out of miseries caused by the protracted turmoil,” he said.
Taking dig at the traditional political parties, Bukhari said: “The divisive politics of the traditional political parties has been a curse for the people of this land over the years. Their disruptive politics and misleading slogans have landed thousands of our youth either in the jails or in the graveyards.”
He further said: “Apni Party wants to put an end to the exploitative politics of these traditional parties. We have a vision for a better future for J&K and its people. We will lead people to peace and prosperity, and not to jails and graveyards. Unlike the traditional political parties, the Apni Party does not believe in the politics of deception.”
Emphasizing on sustained peace, he said: “J&K people, who have been suffering for quite a long time, deserve a sustained peace now. Only a durable peace will pave the way for prosperity and development of this land. We cannot afford to let our youngsters suffer continually.”
“Our youths deserve a peaceful and prosperous life. I assure you that the Apni Party will keep striving for a better and promising future for the young generation. I want to assure you that the Apni Party will never mislead or misguide. We will lead you to peaceful and prosperous Jammu Kashmir, he said.
Political and economic empowerment to the people is possible only when we have a conducive environment here, he said, while reiterating that Apni Party will make every effort to ensure the jailed youth are released.
He said: “We have already begun the process to get our youngsters out of the jails. I promise you that we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure the detainees are released to restart their peaceful life with their families.”
Besides Bukhari, prominent party leaders including senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir and general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir were also present in the rally.
