Having faced embarrassment on the rape-murder of an 8-year-old girl in Kathua district and fall of its graph amidst allegations of its ministers having failed to watch interests of the Jammu region, all nine BJP ministers tonight submitted their resignation from the council of ministers headed by Mehbooba Mufti.

There were reports that the BJP has decided to recast its ministers in the cabinet and there was no threat to the BJP-PDP coalition government.

It is learnt that all BJP ministers have submitted their resignations to the state party chief Sat Sharma. The BJP leadership was keen to introduce new faces in the coalition ministry.

Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga had resigned last week on the issue of having participated in a rally in which they demanded CBI enquiry into the rape-murder case in Kathua district.

The BJP high command has been receiving complaints that the party ministers in J-K were non-functional and allegations of corruption were made against some of them. The BJP general secretary Ram Madhav had many trips here to douse the fire within the party.

Senior party activists have been complaining that the BJP might badly get hit in the Lok Sabha elections in J&K if the present set of ministers was allowed to continue in office.
