Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said while other parties “receive” donations, the BJP “collects” the same, in an apparent reference to the controversy surrounding the electoral bonds issue.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has even collected donations from vaccine makers,” Yadav alleged while addressing the media on Thursday.
Akhilesh Yadav asked the SP leaders and supporters to be careful during the Lok Sabha polls.” Not only vote, but also protect the booth. If BJP loses, the Constitution and farmers will be saved. Youth will get jobs,” he said.
Reacting on the announcement of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) to contest from Kaushambi, Phulpur and Mirzapur Lok Sabha seats, Yadav said that the alliance of SP and Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) was in the 2022 assembly elections.
“We do not have any alliance for 2024,” he clarified. SP had already fielded candidate from Mirzapur seat.
Meanwhile, Lok Dal national president Sunil Singh on Thursday gave his party’s support to Samajwadi Party for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Singh told scribes that the 2024 election is an election to save democracy.
“The country is facing a difficult situation. Rashtriya Lok Dal( RLD) is a duplicate party as Lok Dal was formed by Choudhury Charan Singh while Ajit Singh formed a party similar to Lok Dal. This time RLD will prove zero in the Lok Sabha polls,” he claimed.
Lok Dal President said that Akhilesh Yadav was instrumental in the victory of RLD on eight seats in 2022 assembly polls in the state and sent him (Jayant Chaudhary) to Rajya Sabha. Now they are talking about seeing the image of Charan Singh in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP is dreaming of winning the elections by taking Ram as its base. If BJP wins, farmers will lose, he said.
