Akhilesh Yadav demands more expressways in UP

Samajwadi Party President and former UP Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has requested Union Minister of Road Transport and State Highways, Nitin Gadkari for construction of various expressways/highways in Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh Yadav, in a letter to the Union Minister on Monday, has written to speed up the development of UP as there is a need to build new expressways and roads already approved by the Government of India.

Akhilesh Yadav has demanded in the letter that the construction work of 408.77 km long Chambal Expressway connecting Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) and Kota (Rajasthan), the alignment approved by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), should be completed.

The construction work of the proposed 6 lane road from Gwalior to Lipulekh in Madhya Pradesh should be completed soon and the Bundelkhand Expressway should be connected to Satna and the expressway starting in Etawah should be taken upto Haridwar.

The Kannauj MP has also demanded that the Purvanchal Expressway should be extended by 25 kilometers to Pakhanpura village to connect it with the expressway being built up to Buxar-Bhagalpur in Bihar, so that an expressway can be provided from Bhagalpur to Delhi.

Along with this, a new expressway should be constructed starting from Naimisharanya section of Agra-Lucknow Expressway till Haridwar.
