Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the BJP is constantly attacking and weakening the reservation given to Backwards and Dalits in the country.
“The BJP has been an opponent of social justice since the beginning,” said Yadav.
In a statement here on Saturday, Yadav said that reservation was ignored in the recruitment of teachers in universities.
“The rights of backward people were ignored in many universities. The intention of the BJP has never been good for giving respect and rights to the backwards. The BJP is doing backdoor politics against reservation,” he said.
The SP president said that preparations are being made to open campuses of foreign universities in the country. Time will tell how much the students of the country will be benefited by this but it is certain that there will be no system like reservation in these universities, he added.
He said the BJP is pretending to be with the backwards to fulfill its political objective.
“The BJP cheats the people after getting power. The backwards and Dalits have understood the deception and trickery of the BJP and will answer this deception when the time comes,” he further said.
Yadav questioned: “When the benefit of reservation is not being given in the universities of the country , then what respect and place will Dalits, backwards, tribal teachers and students get in the campuses of foreign universities? It would have been better if efforts would have been made to open campuses of prestigious institutions of India in foreign countries as well.”
The former UP CM said: “There are not one but many examples in UP when the BJP government has ignored the rights of the backwards. By misinterpreting reservation in police recruitment, hundreds of youths were deprived of jobs. Reservation scam was done on a large scale in the recruitment of 69,000 teachers.”
He said that the intention of the BJP government is to suppress the backwards and Dalits instead of giving them their rights and entitlements.
