In the wake of an instance of leakage of question paper for the post of Junior Office Assistant (IT), the Himachal Pradesh government, on Monday, suspended the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC), Hamirpur with immediate effect.
The exam was scheduled to be held on 25 December this month, however with the paper leak it was cancelled.
While interacting with media, Principal Advisor (Media) to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan said that besides, the paper leak of the JOA-IT this time, it was also apprehended that this malpractice was going on for quite some time and prima facie, it appears that the Commission has not discharged its duties and responsibilities in a transparent manner.
“The action taken by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu shows the commitment to provide corruption free and responsive administration to the people of the state. And it also shows the commitment of the Sukhu to ensure zero tolerance against corruption. It is a historic decision to ensure complete transparency in the functioning of the Commission,” he said.
This would also help in instilling faith in the job seeking youth in recruitment agencies, he added.
