An Additional Superintendent of Police, Special Operation Group (SOG), Divya Mittal posted in Ajmer was on Monday arrested during a special raid by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore from a client in a case of NDPS Act.
The Additional SP allegedly demanded the bribe for not arresting the accused in the drug hauling case registered under the NDPS Act. One Sumit Kumar, a former cop, who was assisting Divya for the Rs. 2 crore bribe, was also nabbed during the raid.
ACB sleuths acted on a complaint received from her client, who allegedly agreed to pay Rs 1.5 crore to Mittal. A case under the Anti-Corruption Act has been registered against the two accused.
