The AAP on Friday claimed the CBI will arrest party supremo Arvind Kejriwal in a few days as it said the Centre is hell-bent on scuttling the AAP-Congress alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Addressing a joint press conference, AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi and Sandeep Pathak said the BJP-led central dispensation is scared of the coming together of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress.

Bharadwaj said the saffron party believes its problems are going to increase in states where the AAP and the Congress will contest together.

“We have received information that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will send notice under 41A of CrPC and Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested in two to three days,” he claimed.

The AAP leaders, however, told media that the party is not going to be intimidated by such threats and come what may, it will seal seat sharing with the Congress under the opposition INDIA alliance. They said even if the AAP’s national convener is arrested, the alliance will be formed.

“There will be a tsunami in the entire country and all your bets will go wrong because this time you are facing Arvind Kejriwal,” Pathak said in an apparent reference to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Atishi claimed the BJP has understood that it will not be able to get Kejriwal arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), so they brought in the CBI.
