AAP announces Lok Sabha candidates for Delhi, Haryana; fields three sitting MLAs

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its Lok Sabha election candidates for Delhi and Haryana. The AAP is contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and Haryana in an alliance with INDIA bloc partners Congress.

Kuldeep Kumar, an MLA from Kondli, has fielded from East Delhi, which is currently held by BJP leader and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

Mahabal Mishra, a former Congress leader, will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from West Delhi on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. He had lost the 2019 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections against BJP’s Parvesh Verma.

Malviya Nagar MLA and Delhi Jal Board vice chairman Somnath Bharti will contest from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency held currently by BJP’s Meenakshi Lekhi.

Sahil Ram Pahalwan, sitting MLA from Tughlakabad, will be the AAP’s South Delhi candidate. BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri is the sitting MP from the South Delhi constituency.

AAP will contest four of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. The remaining three seats — North East Delhi, North West, and Chandni Chowk — will be contested by its coalition partner Congress.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta has been named as AAP’s Lok Sabha election candidate from Haryana’s Kurukshetra. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party has announced to contest the Lok Sabha polls in Haryana in alliance with the Congress.

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has won all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi as the ruling AAP and it’s INDIA alliance partner Congress failed to open its account.
