75 youth from Haryana to participate in the National Youth Festival

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday met and extended his best wishes to 75 youth participants from the state, who will represent Haryana at the National Youth Festival in New Delhi from January 10 to 12.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the youth and extended his best wishes and said that Haryana’s representation in the National Youth Festival is a moment of pride and honour. He encouraged the participants to achieve their goals with hard work and dedication, bringing laurels to the state.

The Chief Minister said that last year, Haryana secured the second position nationwide at the National Youth Festival held in Nashik, Maharashtra. “I hope that this time, Haryana is sure to secure the top position in the National Youth Festival,” said Chief Minister Saini.

The Chief Minister emphasized that wherever the youth of Haryana go, they make a significant impact. They stand out with a unique identity, representing the spirit of Haryana. Known for their Dhaakad spirit, the state youth are a force to be reckoned with. He urged the participants to set clear goals and relentlessly work towards achieving them.

He said that the talented youth of Haryana has shone bright at both national and international levels. They have achieved remarkable success in various fields such as sports, competitive exams, the armed forces, and the arts.

The CM said that Haryana has become a sports hub, with the government working strategically to promote athletes. In recent years, India has gained a distinct reputation for winning medals in sports, with Haryana leading the charge within the country, he said.

Saini said that the Haryana government has prioritized the respect and welfare of youth by providing government jobs without any favouritism. Till date, 1.71 lakh youth have secured jobs based on merit, and the government is committed to make recruitments on an additional 2 lakh new posts.

He further said that the present state government is dedicated to promoting youth through education, skill training, and self-employment opportunities, ensuring that the youth of Haryana become job givers rather than job seekers. The Haryana government stands with its youth at every step, said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and channelize their energy in sports and other constructive activities. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement aims to keep the youth physically fit and enable them to contribute to nation-building.

He assured that the government is taking strong measures to combat drug abuse and is strictly penalizing those involved in the drug trade. Additionally, the government plans to launch a new portal where the public can anonymously report any information related to drug abuse, ensuring confidentiality for those providing the information, shared Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Director General, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department, Vivek Aggarwal said that the Directorate of Skill Development and Industrial Training had successfully organized District Youth Festivals in all 22 districts of Haryana in November 2024.

Approximately 6,000 youth participated in various competitions. Following this, the State Youth Festival was held in Palwal from January 3 to January 5, 2025, where district-level winners competed for a chance to represent Haryana at the National Youth Festival. This year’s theme for the National Youth Festival is “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue,” which will see around one lakh youth from across the country participating, said Aggarwal.
