A 70-year-old self-styled saint was found murdered on Monday with his limbs tied up with a small rope at his room in Bagichi attached with a small temple where he used to sit the whole day and pray at Rasal village of Deedwana-Kuchaman district.
There was no external injury on the body of Mohan Ram Maharaj, except bleeding from his mouth when the cops of Kuchaman Police station reached the spot after receiving an information from the deceased’s disciple, Superintendent of Police Praveen Nayak told The Statesman when contacted.
The body was cremated by his family after postmortem. Saint left behind his wife and sons, the SP said.
Prima facie, the godman died of suffocation as his limbs and mouth was tied with clothes, and he probably bleeded due to shock or internal injuries, according to the SP.
The police lodged an FIR and a team of cops were searching the culprits after interrogating his family members who live away from the Bagichi.
