Five residential houses in Srinagar “being used for terrorism” were on Tuesday, attached by the J&K Police. The police said these houses have been attached under Section 2(g) & 25 of the UAP Act for being used for the purpose of terrorism.
It was also clearly found that the harbouring of terrorists was at the houses willful, repetitive and without any coercion. Many attacks on civilians and security forces were planned from these houses.
The police said these houses were used by the owners for purpose of militancy and the providing shelter to the terrorists voluntarily.
A police spokesman said the five houses have been attached under the jurisdiction of police stations Parimpora, Panthachowk, Nowhatta and Zakoora. Some more such houses have been identified and any willful harbouring will be dealt with the full force of law.
The police appealed to the citizens not to harbour or give shelter to terrorists. If they do, they will be forced to resort to attachment proceedings.
“In case of any forced or coercive entry by terrorists into any house, the matter should be brought to the notice of police immediately”, read a statement of the police.
The police had earlier attached more than 100 vehicles that were misused for ferrying terrorists.
