120th birth anniversary of former PM late Charan Singh observed in Bharatpur


Recalling the contribution of former Prime Minister late Chaudhary Charan Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said Charan Singh had a rich revolutionary thoughts and his whole life was a struggle as did not give up his principles.
“Chaudhary ji had also played an active role in the freedom struggle. Even after independence, he kept fighting for the rights of the farmers and the poor”, Gehlot said while addressing a mammoth gathering of farmers at MJS College Ground in Bharatpur to observe the 120th birth anniversary of former PM.
During this, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development works worth about Rs 693.91 crore in Bharatpur area.
CM said that the state government was taking important decisions in the interest of the farmers and the schemes dedicated to the farmers were being run successfully in Rajasthan.  Apart from providing financial support to the farmers of the state through these schemes, their lives have become prosperous, he claimed and added that farmers were an important link in the economic policy of the state.
Among others who addressed the rally included  Rashtriya Lok Dal General Secretary Trilok Tyagi and RLD’s sole MLA and Minister Technical Education Dr Subhash Garg.
