Aitraaz, which starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, was one of the most successful films of 2004. Priyanka stunned us all with flawless performance as antagonist Sonia Roy and stole the spotlight.
Aitraaz was directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai and the reports are coming up that Subhash Ghai is keen on making a sequel to the romantic thriller and wants Priyanka to play the lead.
The filmmaker is now on the lookout for a director and to finalise the cast while the movie will go on floors by the year-end.
A source close to the director revealed that it would be a new story with a new title. “Subhash Ghai has already had a word with Priyanka and the two have discussed the film. She loves the idea of a sequel to a film which won her accolades for her performance in a negative role and is excited to feature in the second installment of the franchise. She is keen to collaborate with Ghai again and has even told him that she will try working on her dates,” said the source.
Meanwhile, Priyanka is back to Mumbai city and now will start working on her upcoming Bollywood films.
