First trailer of the upcoming film on Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has released, and we must say that it makes for an interesting watch. Titled An Insignificant Man, it documents Arvind Kejriwal’s journey from a common man to becoming a Chief Minister.
The trailer, which was launched on Wednesday (October 25) gives glimpses into how the film sets out to tell the “extraordinary story of an unlikely election”.
“An Insignificant Man” is a result of 400 hours of footage recorded over the course of a year, capturing the clashes between idealism and politics during the Aam Aadmi Party’s 2013 election campaign. With no star cast at all, the trailer reveals how an ordinary man came out to forming his own party for the good of common people.
We get to see incidents of the time when Arvind Kejriwal and Yogendra Yadav were working together. In one of the shots Yadav is also seen clutching his head.
Ranka said in a statement: “It is all real footage. We followed them around with cameras and shot things as they were happening. There is no script, no interviews.”
Singer/composer, Vishal Dadlani who was earlier associated with Kejriwal’s party tok to Twitter to share the trailer of the movie and wrote, “No one can deny that @ArvindKejriwal & #AAP have shaken up traditional politics & politicians. This is the story.”

The film was earlier in the news for a row with the censor board, which under the leadership of Pahlaj Nihalani, had asked the makers Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Kejriwal himself, to get a go-ahead for release.
The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal gave it the green signal. Now it is releasing on November 17. (With IANS Inputs)
