Ace director Vikram Bhatt is back with a horror film titled Ghost. The film has been making waves amongst fans and horror enthusiasts for its scenes, songs and dialogues.
On Friday, the makers announced that the film has crossed language barriers and will be screened in international waters at the prestigious New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival.
Ghost is touted to be the scariest film from the Bhatt stable.
Taking place in New Jersey on October 20, the festival celebrates the moving image work done by filmmakers from around the world.
Ghost will be screened as the closing night film. NJIIFF 2019 will be covered by all Indian American Media of New York and New Jersey and almost 3000 people are expected to attend the film festival.
An elated director, Vikram Bhatt shared his excitement around the film’s screening. He said “The response we have been receiving from Indians had us overwhelmed and with a screening at NJIIFF, we can’t wait for global audiences to see the story and connect to it. The germ of this story was in international waters when I was travelling so I guess life has come a full circle with the screening also happening overseas. Ghost is more than just a horror film, it’s a story of emotions, of love and of fear. The NJIIFF is a great platform for such a story and I can’t wait for audience reactions.”
Based on a true story, Bhatt’s Ghost revolves around Karan Khanna who has been accused of killing his wife but believes she has been murdered by a spirit. What follows is a story of inspired and absolute insanity which will have audiences in shock and fear.
Vikram Bhatt shared that the idea of Ghost came to him when he read a newspaper article about how a British court allowed a matter involving spirits to be tried. He was intrigued and decided to channel his energy into this film.
Ghost, A Vashu Bhagnani production, directed by Vikram Bhatt will release in cinemas on 18 October, 2019.
