Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu’s October has impressed the audience and critics worldwide. The film opened on a decent note at the box office and minted Rs. 5.04 crore on the first day.

The film showed nearly 48.21% growth in earnings on Day 2. October collected Rs 7.47 crore on its second day, taking its total earnings to Rs 12.51 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the figures on his Instagram handle. His post read, “#October shows a SUPER 48.21% GROWTH on Sat… Metros/plexes are clearly contributing heavily to the revenue… Should continue the upward trend on Sun… Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 7.47 cr. Total: ₹ 12.51 cr. India biz.”

October has been well praised mainly for the direction and Varun’s performance in the film. October’s first-day collection is better than films like Hichki and Blackmail which fared on a similar note.

Earlier, Varun had mentioned that he did not do October thinking of box office numbers. He stated that he went by his instinct and had followed through with Shoojit for almost a year to cast him in his film. Shoojit, on the other hand, too, was all praises for Varun and has termed it as his best performance to date.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, October also features Banita Sandhu in her debut film and was released worldwide on April 13.
